Under this rule, he cannot practice, play, or attend any games, but he is still eligible to get paid. It is important to note that with Jacobs, his court hearing is not until November. So it is very possible that he will miss at least the first six regular season games, if not more. This is the Packers’ schedule for the first six games: At the Vikings in Week 1, at the New York Jets in Week 2, followed by a Thursday night game at home against the Atlanta Falcons, a road game in Tampa against the Buccaneers, and then two consecutive home games in weeks five and six against the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys, respectively. What does Jacobs’s absence mean for the Packers? Marshawn Lloyd will be the Packers’ new starting running back and will have his chance to show what he can do. Lloyd has had trouble staying healthy during his career, dealing with lower leg injuries specifically. Earlier on Sunday, Green Bay traded for running back Kaleb Johnson from the Pittsburgh Steelers. It cannot be ruled out that Jacobs might be outright released from the team, though coach Matt LaFleur said he “fully anticipates” Jacobs remaining with the Packers in 2026. Either way, it is a massive blow for a team that is already going to be without its star pass rusher, Micah Parsons, until week six at the earliest, which is October 18 against the Cowboys.
