Oregon’s game against Portland State on Sept. 18 will be free to watch for fans in Japan and elsewhere outside the U.S., as part of a new content push between the school, Big Ten Network, and DAZN announced earlier this week. Dan Lanning’s program is also sending DAZN its weekly in-season series Ducks v. Them and other social content, while Big Ten Network will hand over an episode of The B1G Trip, its documentary series following the Tokyo delegation, which saw Lanning run a coaches clinic on route concepts and offensive strategy while his players led live 7-on-7 exhibitions for Japanese youth at the American School in Japan, for international release on DAZN. “The Tokyo Oregon Football Showcase created real connections, and this is a special way to build on the momentum created by our visit,” Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens said in a statement. “Working with Big Ten Network and DAZN lets us bring Oregon football to fans in Japan and in all international markets DAZN serves, and we look forward to continuing to add additional content and other elements to this partnership.” “DAZN’s collaboration with the Big Ten Network and the University of Oregon is a great example of how we connect passionate fan communities across borders,” DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev added. “We’re excited to bring the Ducks’ season to audiences in Japan and around the world, giving more fans free access to live Big Ten action. As the home of major US leagues and teams internationally, DAZN is helping leading sports properties grow their reach and deepen engagement with fans worldwide.” Last October, DAZN reached a multiyear deal with the Big Ten to distribute its games internationally, starting with football season, when the Big Ten Championship and every conference football game became available on the streamer. The agreement also folded in a slate of men’s and women’s basketball games, BTN studio and shoulder programming, football from the Big 12 and Mountain West, and basketball from the Big 12 and Big East. Combined with existing rights to the SEC and ACC, the deal made DAZN the international home for every major college football conference, with some exceptions: Big Ten games on CBS won’t be available in Bermuda, NBC and Peacock games won’t air in the Caribbean, and Fox Sports games won’t be available in Latin America. For its part, DAZN has become a go-to destination for American sports abroad. The streamer holds international rights to the NFL’s Game Pass, secured international distribution for the NHL in July 2025, and streamed the FIFA Club World Cup free to a global audience last summer after paying $1 billion for the rights. The latest addition to that portfolio is Big Ten football, doubling down on the very market Oregon’s own Tokyo delegation spent the summer courting in person. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. PT on Sept. 18, or 11:30 a.m. the next morning in Tokyo.
