Manchester United produced a stunning second-half turnaround to storm past Ipswich Town 5-2 in the Premier League on Sunday. Kobbie Mainoo – 9/10 Mainoo completely ran the midfield, repeatedly escaping Ipswich pressure and leaving their players frustrated as they tried to dispossess him. His superb through ball to Cunha played a crucial role in creating the penalty that eventually put United in control. Bruno Fernandes – 10/10 Cometh the man, cometh the hour. Fernandes fired home a superb equaliser before keeping his composure to dispatch the penalty. He then completed his hat-trick with a wonderfully precise finish beyond the goalkeeper. His finest contribution came moments later when he produced a stunning pass to release Mbeumo and put the game beyond doubt. Bryan Mbeumo – 7/10 Mbeumo should have opened his account earlier after Rashford put the goal on a plate for him, but he somehow missed the golden opportunity. He made amends in trademark fashion later, racing through on goal after Fernandes’ brilliant pass before chipping it over the goalkeeper. Marcus Rashford – 7/10 Rashford marked his Old Trafford return with an electric display that offered plenty of encouragement for the season ahead. He should have registered an assist after creating a glorious chance for Mbeumo, who somehow failed to convert. His willingness to track back and work tirelessly for the team also earned a huge ovation from the home crowd. Matheus Cunha – 7/10 Cunha endured a quiet opening but gradually grew into the contest and delivered when United needed him most. His perfectly weighted pass into Fernandes’ path sparked the move that produced the equaliser and changed the momentum of the game. He also won the penalty. Substitutions Leny Yoro – 6/10 A positive cameo at right-back. Noussair Mazraoui – 5/10 Playing him regularly at left-back could be a major problem in the Premier League.
