Mohamed Salah agrees special clause as Trabzonspor release Liverpool icon's huge salary
Mohamed Salah has joined Trabzonspor after leaving Liverpool as a free agent this summer, with details surrounding his blockbuster annual salary now coming to light
Mohamed Salah will receive a staggering annual salary of £14.5million with Trabzonspor. Salah made the decision to part ways with Liverpool this summer, despite having signed a two-year extension at Anfield last April.
And as a result, the 34-year-old has been allowed to join the Turkish Super Lig challengers on a free this month. Trabzonspor shared Salah's salary on a public disclosure platform (via the Daily Mail) with the forward in line for a huge annual salary with the club, guaranteed until the summer of 2028.
Through the agreement, Salah will receive £14.5m each season, broken down into an annual salary of £8.5m and a £6m signing fee. That's excluding lucrative performance-based bonuses which have been agreed between the player and club.
Salah has also agreed a clause guaranteeing him a 20 per cent share of the revenue generated by Trabzonspor's retail company, which is brand-specific to him. It means that he will see a substantial cut of shirt sales bearing his number, as well as any specialist items which are released in his image.
Speaking about the move, Salah explained that he was taken aback by the atmosphere, while promising his dedication to the club's success. He said: "I am very happy to be in this incredible atmosphere.
"I don't recall ever seeing anything like this before. There are 25,000 people here —it's incredible.
"I've never seen anything like it. I have achieved success everywhere I've been, and I want to achieve success at Trabzonspor as well."
Official premium experiences at Anfield are available now for the 26/27 Premier League season. Make it easier than ever to turn a regular fixture into something genuinely unforgettable.

However, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was less than impressed by Salah's decision to make his way to Trabzonspor this summer, citing how the forward is too good to be playing in the Turkish Super Lig.
He told Football Ramble: "I never believed he was going to go to Saudi, because number one, he's too good for that. I think he can be playing in Serie A.
"Turkey for me feels a level too low. I was convinced he'd end up at an AC Milan or Juventus or somewhere like that, maybe his wages were a problem.
Kitbag has slashed the price of Liverpool kits and merch with up to 70% off select items.
"Looking at him, I don't know him, obviously have never spoken to him. But he's like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he's so driven, his numbers mean so much to him.
"I thought, he can still do this in Turkey by the way, but I thought he'd want to play at a real prestigious club. Obviously his wage demands have put a few people off but I thought he might almost curb those demands a little bit to almost get a better club.
"To go to an AC Milan or Juventus or whoever it may be, play at the San Siro, still playing in big games, still playing in Europe. Turkey just feels like...I just think he's better than that."
