Jaguars to release Nick Mullens after Quinn Ewers trade

In the aftermath of the Quinn Ewers trade, the Jaguars are letting go of one of their quarterbacks.
Jacksonville is releasing Nick Mullens, according to a report from NFL Network.
Mullens, 31, joined the Jaguars in March 2025 on a two-year deal. He appeared in five games for the club last season, completing all three of his passes for 19 yards.
Mullens spent the previous three seasons with the Vikings, starting three games in 2023.
Having entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Mullens has appeared in 38 career games with 20 starts for San Francisco, Cleveland, Minnesota, and Jacksonville.
Aside from Ewers and starter Trevor Lawrence, the Jaguars also have Carter Bradley and rookie Joey Aguilar at quarterback with rosters set to be reduced to 53 players by 6 p.m. ET on Sunday.
