John Eustace hopes Derby can add to their squad before the window closes after his side were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Lincoln. First-half goals from Ben House and Dom Jefferies put Lincoln in control before Sam Szmodics’ volley cut the deficit. A Carlton Morris shot that was blocked was the closest Derby came to equalising and Eustace admits his side fell short. Eustace said: “It just highlights if you don’t start games properly you are going to get punished and you have to earn the right to play in every game and we didn’t do that today. “Its very important that we keep building on the momentum of last season and signings will help that, hopefully we can get three or four in to help the group. “We’ve got to get the players believing that they are good enough and fit enough to compete and today we weren’t at the level required to win a game.” Lincoln head coach Chris Cohen said: “The most pleasing thing was the way that we won and the chances we were able to create. “The effort, the application, everything we ask of them they have always done but they went above and beyond today to get a really good victory to give them belief they are good enough to compete and thrive at this level. “I thought in the moments when we had the ball we were electric and then without the ball we were a pleasure to watch.”
