Former Rangers and Leeds United star set to complete UK transfer return as Championship 'deal agreed' Ibrox hero is on the verge of completing his latest move Former Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is set to return to the EFL Championship after agreeing to join QPR on loan from Ligue 1 side Rennes. The 30-year old has been plying his trade in Brittany since he moved from Leeds United in 2024 but has struggled for game time in a red and black shirt. In turn, he was farmed out on loan to Saudi Pro League Al-Shabab last season and now looks to be following suit for the upcoming campaign. The Finland international - capped 70 times - cost Rangers £50k from Dundee in what is one of their most successful transfers in recent memory. He made 193 subsequent appearances and was part of the SPFL Premiership winning-side in the 2020/21 season which prevented Celtic from achieving the illustrious 10 titles in a row. Rennes and QPR agree Kamara loan Prominent Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims the clubs have already reached an agreement. He confirmed via X: “Glen Kamara has agreed to join QPR, deal agreed also between clubs with Rennes and here we go! Agreement on loan with an option to buy. Deal at paperwork stage.” The Arsenal academy product notched just 88 minutes last season for Rennes, as they finished 6th in the French top flight. QPR boss Julian Stephan is looking to strengthen for the season ahead after coming 15th. The London side also have former Rangers transfer target Pierce Charles on loan from Manchester City currently, as well as ex Celtic wonder-kid Karamoko Dembele. During his last stint in the English second tier, he made 37 league appearances for Leeds as they secured a third place finish.
