Blackpool boss shares problem for ex-Wigan Athletic man following Grimsby Town absence
Blackpool forward Dale Taylor has suffered a hamstring injury.
Dale Taylor missed Blackpool’s opening game of the season due to a hamstring problem - and is set to be out for the foreseeable future.
The forward made the move to Bloomfield Road last summer from Nottingham Forest, but has faced misfortune in Tangerine in his first 12 months.
Two separate injuries disrupted the 2025/26 campaign for the ex-Wigan Athletic loanee, restricting him to just four goals in all competitions.
After featuring in every game throughout pre-season, the 22-year-old was struck down by a fresh problem ahead of Saturday afternoon’s 3-1 victory over Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup.
Providing an update on Taylor, Blackpool boss Ian Evatt said: “He’s got a hamstring issue. We don’t know the extent of it yet - it’s the other hamstring, not the one he injured last season.
“He’s out for the foreseeable so we’re digging into the extent of it and how quickly we can get him back.
“He’s looked so good and so sharp. The best people in life I know have always come through adversity. Dale has had adversity, Fraser (Horsfall) has had some adversity, Michael Ihiekwe has from last season, and now Ilmari (Niskanen) has.
“I know these guys, I know their character inside and out, and I know how they’ll respond - we’ll need them to.”
