West Ham have agreed a loan deal with RC Lens for Jean Clair-Todibo, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
A key objective for the club was to get the player away from east London, with it clear he had become a negative energy for some time and he himself wanting out.
Although a permanent move would have been more desired, a loan has been agreed with the French side for a season move at this stage.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, Ex advised that Marseille’s financial situation meant they were unable to get a deal done for the player.
“It appears that West Ham have finally achieved one of their key objectives of the window and that was shift Jean-Clair Todibo from the club,” stated Ex.
“As we reported in our late night update French and English clubs were keen on the player well it looks like despite being front runners for most of the window Marseille, due to financial issues, have been unable to close the deal and now RC Lens have got a deal.
“It is thought to be a straight loan deal. Despite a few decent games for the club when Nuno first arrived the player has fallen out with every manager including “heated” altercations with previous managers.
“West Ham will hope to bring in at least one more centre back before the window closes.”
