Preston North End player ratings vs Huddersfield Town: Erabi and Burgzorg heroes and Lang and Iversen impress Scores on the doors from Goodison. Preston North End are through to the second round of the Carabao Cup after a penalty shootout win over Huddersfield Town, following a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes. Here are our player ratings. Starting XI Daniel Iversen: Two big saves in the shootout! Gave away a corner in a nervy moment. Not his best game distribution-wise. 6.5 Odel Offiah: Passing more direct today, mixed payoff. Some big clearances in first half. 6 Lewis Gibson: The red is a difficult one - looks soft on replay but Gibson does enough to force ref into a decision. Very vocal captain, loud with and without the ball. Whether he assumes that responsibility again, who knows? 5 Andrew Hughes: Good understanding between him and Vukcevic, solid on the ball as ever 6 Pol Valentin: Started decently and with one or two good balls for Lang but frustration showed as game went on. 5.5 Jordan Thompson: Struggled to move ball forward. Couple of odd free kick routines with Devine that were ineffective. 5.5 Ali McCann: Some good passes to Lang in second half. Kept very quiet in the first. Picked up a yellow. Good penalty 6 Andrija Vukcevic: Gave away the free kick that led to Balker’s goal. Had been decent on the ball before then, good play in opening 10. 6 Alfie Devine: Great penalty and grew into game, but lacked his usual creative spark. Caught offside a couple of times in second half during good moves. 6 Callum Lang: Up for it from the off. Worked hard to keep play alive, strong appeals for penalty went against him Will be a nightmare for defenders as the season goes on. Should be tighter to Balker. Struggled physically from time to time against Roughan. 6.5 Milutin Osmajic: Felt sorry for him. 11 touches for the striker, but poor service for him. Tells the whole story of the game prior to the substitutes. 5.5 Substitutes Liam Lindsay: Did a fine job off the bench. 6 Jusef Erabi: Some impact! Right place, right time. And a good spot kick to boot! He will be a handful this season. 7 Delano Burgzorg: Great ball to Erabi for the equaliser. Could have scored himself earlier on. 7 Jordan Storey: Solid. 6
