He faces the prospect of reduced game time in the upcoming season amid internal competition within the squad. As De Zerbi’s side will not be participating in any European competition, the combative midfielder may struggle for regular minutes. Now, according to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham have set a £30 million asking price for Sarr amid Aston Villa interest. The club’s hierarchy are happy to accept a modest fee for the Senegalese, who wants to leave N17 after being pushed down the pecking order following the arrivals of Tonali and Fernandes. Villa are very keen to make the 23-year-old a part of their squad. Unai Emery could view Sarr as the replacement for Youri Tielemans, who joined Manchester United earlier in the transfer window. The Spanish tactician is building a strong squad to tackle the challenges of the Champions League and the Premier League, and a player of Sarr’s quality, experience and versatility could thrive under his leadership. Rated at £30 million, the West Midlands club will not have to break the bank either to sign the African talent. Sarr will also get an opportunity to rebuild his career in England with a move to Villa Park. That said, it remains to be seen whether the Emery-managed club are willing to pay up.
