WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has had quite a few remarkable rivals in his career spanning across four decades. This one is high up on that list. Rey Mysterio began his career on the independent circuit in Mexico in 1989, when he was only 14 years old. What began during his early days in the Mexican promotion AAA turned into an eternal rivalry of sorts; Rey Mysterio and Psicosis were destined to do it forever, and that is exactly what they did. They introduced their style of wrestling to the United States audience in the mid-90s when both luchadores signed to ECW. This transitioned into WCW, where The Giant Killer and the El Millonario de Tijuana clashed at Bash at the Beach on July 7, 1996, in an iconic cruiserweight match. To the surprise of nobody, once both men were signed to WWE, their paths crossed yet again. The duo fought tooth and nail on many occasions, including the ECW One Night Stand event in 2005, which was Vince McMahon’s revival of the brand; the company by then was defunct. Psicosis was released one year later following an arrest in Rosarito, Mexico. Mysterio has moved to a part-time schedule in WWE, with a new role as the General Manager of AAA. Meanwhile, Psicosis has slowed down significantly in recent years due to age and lingering injuries. However, he headlined independent tours across Canada and the United States in mid-2026. He is celebrating a milestone 35 plus year career.
