Republic of Ireland international Troy Parrott made his first start for Real Betis on Saturday in their 5-2 defeat to Levante.
The Dubliner, who signed for Manuel Pellegrini’s side last week following a deal reportedly worth €20 million, was promoted from the bench for Saturday afternoon’s La Liga fixture having made his first appearance for the Spanish club earlier this week, coming on as a substitute in their 1-0 away win over Valencia on Tuesday.
Betis had less luck against Levante, who were helped to victory by a second-half brace from Roger Brugué.
Parrott was influential in attack for Betis, and had a goal chalked off for offside before providing the assist for Marc Bartra’s 34th-minute goal.

The Dubliner then had another chance on goal early in the second half but sent his header outside wide and made way for substitute Cucho Hernández on 57 minutes.
In the game against Valencia, Parrott was sprung from the bench in the 70th minute. The 24-year-old quickly made his presence felt, pulling a shot wide before being involved in the build-up to Pablo García 83th-minute winner.
