James Morrison names two debutants in West Brom starting XI The boss has picked his first team of the season. James Morrison has handed debuts to two new signings in Albion’s season opener at Rotherham. The Baggies face the Millers in a Carabao Cup first round tie at the New York Stadium. Morrison is keen for a good run in the competition and has selected pretty much his strongest possible team. That includes debuts for right-back Nolan Galves and forward Jimmy Jay-Morgan. Albion’s other four summer signings to this point - Barney Stewart, Conor Townsend, Felix Horn Myhre and goalkeeper Matt Ingram - are all on the bench. In a boost to the Baggies, Mikey Johnston is also among the substitutes after five months out with an ankle injury. More than 2,500 Albion fans have made the journey north. Speaking on Friday, Morrison said: “It is nice to get a competitive game in straight away. We want to take the competition seriously this year. “We haven’t had a run for a while and I am eager to have that.
