Everton interested in Pape Matar Sarr According to Matt Law of the Telegraph on X, Everton are also interested in Pape Matar Sarr. The player has been given the green light to leave Spurs before next week’s transfer window. The Senegalese talent has racked up 141 appearances and scored 11 goals for Spurs. After four seasons, his time in north London is coming to an end. However, Sarr has the opportunity to stay in the Premier League, with Everton and Nottingham Forest both interested in securing his services. The Thiaroye-born talent has not been particularly great for Tottenham in recent times, and following the big-money additions of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes this summer, Sarr must leave the club to resurrect his stuttering career. He is under contract at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2030, so Tottenham are in a commanding position to demand a sizeable fee. But, in reality, the club value the player at just €25m. Sarr would be a good fit at Tottenham Such a market opportunity is too good to ignore for clubs, especially across the Premier League. Everton have only expressed an interest in Sarr. There have been no club-to-club negotiations thus far. It is unknown whether the Toffees want to sign the African star permanently or on loan with an option/obligation to buy from Spurs. During the best part of his managerial career, David Moyes has favoured energetic, combative and tenacious midfielders in his system. Such qualities make Sarr a quintessential player for Moyes. The 23-year-old has built a strong reputation in the Premier League for his dynamic box-to-box engine, ball-winning, tackling, and energetic pressing. He also possesses the knack for scoring goals, as demonstrated by his 11 strikes for the Lilywhites. With Forest advancing in negotiations for Sarr, it will be interesting to see whether Everton make a late hijack.
