Where and when to watch Sunderland's pre-season friendly with Ligue 1 club Lens - and for how much
Sunderland will travel to Ligue 1 club Lens for their latest pre-season friendly this weekend.
Sunderland’s three-game tour of the United States came to an end with a narrow win against Championship club Wrexham on Saturday - and all focus is now on Saturday’s friendly against Ligue 1 club Lens.
Facing European opponents for the first time this summer will offer an exciting glimpse of what lies in wait for the Black Cats this season and they prepare to compete alongside the likes of AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus in the Europa League for the first time in their history. The French outfit will actually compete in the Champions League during the new season after they secured second place in Ligue 1 last season and they will provide a sizeable test of Sunderland’s European credentials.
A number of supporters will make the trip from Wearside across the channel and get behind Regis Le Bris and his players as they begin to ramp up their preparations for one of the most exciting seasons in Sunderland’s history. But there will be an opportunity for supporters not travelling to France to watch the game in full after the Black Cats confirmed the fixture will be broadcast live via SAFC.com.
