ONE Fight Night 48 has two more MMA fights on the October 2 lineup. Joshua “Flyin Hawaiian” Perreira meets Antonio “The Flash” Cesar, while Lee “The Flash” Seung Cheol faces Karen Ghazaryan live in U.S. primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The additions give ONE Championship another pair of streak-heavy matchups on a card already led by Shamil Erdogan vs. Aaron Canarte. The new bouts put four rising fighters with strong records into separate flyweight and strawweight tests. Watch Perreira’s recent ONE finish below: Perreira And Cesar Turn The Flyweight Lane Into A Problem Perreira comes in at 6-0, and the Hawaii-born, Ohio-based finisher has already made a quick impression in ONE. Earlier this year, he stopped Gilbert Nakatani with a spinning backfist in 38 seconds. His ONE run has also been unusual. Perreira’s promotional debut was first ruled a TKO loss, then overturned to a no contest after he suffered a knee injury that required ACL surgery. He was later booked to face Lito Adiwang at ONE Fight Night 45, but Cesar stepped in against Adiwang instead. Now Perreira and Cesar get each other directly. Cesar is 14-2, rides a nine-fight winning streak, and already proved he can handle a late pivot by beating Adiwang by unanimous decision. That win immediately made him more than a replacement name on the bout sheet. The other new bout sends Lee into another pressure test after he turned his Friday Fights run into a full main-roster contract. Lee is 13-1 overall, 6-0 under the ONE banner, and has stacked wins over Fabio Henrique and Bokang Masunyane since earning his US$100,000 deal. Ghazaryan is the smaller-sample finishing threat in the matchup. The Armenian strawweight is 5-1, and all five of his wins have come by stoppage or submission. He dropped his ONE debut to Hiroba Minowa, then came back by putting away Hisashi Ezaki at ONE Fight Night 44, so Lee is getting a real test instead of a stay-busy opponent. Perreira vs. Cesar and Lee vs. Ghazaryan join a Bangkok lineup that also includes Erdogan vs. Canarte and the already rebooked Elbrus Osmanov vs. Denis Souza Jr. bantamweight kickboxing bout. The October 2 card continues ONE’s busy Lumpinee stretch after recent Bangkok cards produced both MMA movement and striking finishes, including ONE Championship cards in Thailand and Jonathan Haggerty’s earlier knockout of Fabricio Andrade.
