Hull FC have confirmed their list of players who will depart the club following the conclusion of the 2026 Betfred Super League season. As already announced, Davy Litten and Amir Bourouh will both depart the club having been released from the remainder of their contract to pursue opportunities with Wakefield Trinity and Catalans Dragons respectively in 2027. Litten, who came through the club’s junior ranks, has made 70 appearances for his boyhood club since his senior debut in 2022 – the club have received a significant six-figure fee for the player from the West Yorkshire side. Bourouh meanwhile joined the club from Salford ahead of the 2025 campaign, making 51 appearances in Black & White over the past two seasons. The club also confirmed last night that Tom Briscoe will bring the curtain down on a stellar 19-year career at the end of the 2026 season, announcing his retirement from the sport. Briscoe, undoubtedly one of the finest wingers of the Super League era, has no less than 453 senior appearances under his belt since making his professional debut with the Airlie Birds in 2008. Successful periods at both Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards are sandwiched between his two spells in West Hull, with whom he currently sits in the club’s ninth highest appearance maker and third highest try-scorer of the modern era. The club can also confirm that Brad Fash, Ligi Sao, Jake Arthur and Hugo Salabio will all depart the club at the end of the season. Fash, one of the club’s longest serving players, will bring to an end a 12-year spell with his hometown club at the end of his testimonial year. Similarly to teammate Briscoe, Fash is one of the club’s highest appearance makers of the modern era, running out 203 times for his boyhood side since his senior debut in 2015. The prop has made a significant contribution to the Black & Whites for over a decade, and will head for pastures new in 2027. Sao will end a six-year association with the club, having joined from NRL side New Zealand Warriors ahead of the 2020 season. A World Cup Finalist during his time in West Hull with Samoa, Sao has similarly been a regular face in Hull’s pack since his arrival – with 118 appearances under his belt, he is FC’s fifth highest overseas appearance maker in the modern era. Arthur joined the club ahead of the current campaign from Newcastle Knights, making 22 appearances so far this season, but will head for pastures new in 2027. Salabio has enjoyed a two-season spell with FC after arriving in 2025, with the Frenchman making 17 appearances for the club. Young squad members Ben Johnson and Roman Dawson will also depart the club. Both products of the club’s Academy, Johnson made his senior debut earlier this season against Leigh Leopards, while Dawson is yet to make his professional debut. Reserves players Elliot Middlemas and Jon Turner have also been released. The club can also confirm that Jed Cartwright will not return to the club following his loan spell with St Helens over recent months. Lennon Clark will remain with the club in 2027 with the club extending his contract by a further season. The club would like to thank all of their departing players for their efforts, and wish them all well for their futures – their names will proudly sit upon our heritage board forevermore.
