At Amorim’s Milan, however, he will finally take centre stage, as the No.9, the starter, the team’s main goalscorer. Yet, accolades must be earned on the pitch, and Ramos finally has the chance to do just that. Even so, the Portuguese forward’s contribution cannot be reduced to mere statistics. Gonçalo is the first to initiate the high press demanded by Amorim and the last to back down when fighting for loose balls. He demonstrated this in Turin as well, even though the goal eluded him. Adrien Rabiot snatched it away just yards from the net, intercepting a perfect delivery from Samuel Chukwueze. He will make up for it, and there will be other chances.
