Saudi Arabian club Al Diriyah are preparing an improved offer to convince Turkish giants Besiktas to sell Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi during the current summer transfer window, according to Turkish sports daily Fanatik. Ndidi has established himself as an influential figure for the Black and Whites since joining from Leicester City last summer. The former Genk midfielder has impressed with his experience, leadership and defensive qualities making him an important part of the squad. Ndidi underlined his importance to the squad after helping Besiktas secure a 1-0 victory over FC Hradec Králové at the Malšovická Arena in the UEFA Conference League qualifier. Ndidi, who recently returned from an injury layoff, was introduced in the second half and made an immediate impact by providing the assist for Semih Kılıçsoy to score the decisive goal towards the end of the encounter. His consistent and impressive performances for the Istanbul-based club have attracted interest from several clubs, with growing speculation linking the Nigerian midfielder with a move to Saudi Arabia. Al Diriyah have expressed interest in securing Ndidi's signature and are prepared to improve their offer after Besiktas rejected an initial €7 million (approximately N11 billion in Nigerian currency) bid for the Super Eagles captain. The Saudi club are keen to secure the signature of the Nigerian midfielder as they look to strengthen their options in the middle of the pitch. Besiktas, however, appear to be preparing for the possibility of Ndidi's departure, with the Turkish club reportedly in talks over a potential move for Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie on a free transfer. With only a few weeks remaining in the summer window, Ndidi will be keen to resolve the uncertainty surrounding his future and maintain his focus on delivering consistent performances for both Besiktas and the Super Eagles.
