Swansea City announce another exit as clause inserted into deal
Another young Swansea City player has left the club for a European side following the exit of Wales international Cameron Congreve
Kyrell Wilson has become the latest exit at Swansea City after completing a permanent move to Belgian side Gent.
WalesOnline understands there is a clause in the deal similar to the one that took fellow Swans academy product Cameron Congreve to Westerlo.
It means should the Swans match any future offer for the 21-year-old they would be entitled to bring him back to the club.
Wilson confirmed his departure in a social media post on Tuesday night.
He wrote: "My time at Swansea has come to an end after being my home for 5 years.
"I’ve learned so much and can’t thank the coaches and players involved in my development here enough .
"Another big thank you to all supporting fans and wish Swansea all the best for the future."
Wilson departs having never made a single senior appearance for the Swans, although he did enjoy a fairly successful loan spell last season at Scottish side Falkirk.
Wilson netted three goals and also earned one assist in 32 games last term.
However, his chances of forcing his way into the first team reckoning for the upcoming campaign were further dented by the captures of Moussa Yeo, Joseph Opoku and Elijah Just.
He has now joined a Gent side eager to improve on last season's fifth-places finish, while there is also a UEFA Conference League campaign ahead.
Wilson is merely the latest academy product to have been shown the door in the last week or so.
Sam Parker has been loaned out to Wycombe Wanderers, while Liam Cullen has also headed out to reunite with Russell Martin at Leicester City.
Congreve, as mentioned will join Wilson in Brlgium next season, while Ollie Cooper has been loaned out to Notts County.
