Everton are now in talks over bringing Jack Grealish back to Merseyside, while Man City have raised the possibility of signing Iliman Ndiaye. That is according to Fabrizio Romano, whose latest update provides a significant development after reports earlier on Thursday that Everton were working on a deal for Grealish. The 30-year-old remains keen to return following his loan spell at the Hill Dickinson last season. Romano now says Grealish is “in talks” over another move to Everton and has also dismissed Sunderland as a potential destination. The Black Cats had been linked with the England international this week, while Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest. Man City raise Ndiaye during Everton discussions There is also a significant update concerning Ndiaye. City’s interest in the Senegal international emerged earlier on Thursday, when talkSPORT reported that Everton valued him at around £80m. Romano now says City have suggested to Everton a possible deal involving Ndiaye moving to the Etihad. That does not mean Everton have offered Ndiaye in exchange for Grealish, and there is no report of an agreement or even that the Blues are willing to sell. Ndiaye has a contract until 2029 and has established himself as one of David Moyes’ most important players. Romano adds that the 26-year-old rejected two approaches from Saudi Arabia this summer because he wants to remain in the Premier League. For Everton, the Grealish update is more encouraging. Earlier reports had indicated that Grealish was very keen to return to Everton, but the latest information suggests matters have moved on to talks over making that happen. That would represent progress as Everton enter the final days of the window still looking to add to Moyes’ squad. Moyes said after Wednesday night’s 4-0 Carabao Cup win at Preston that Everton needed “more players” and “more quality”, while admitting he was unsure whether the club would complete all the business he wanted. A Grealish return would address part of that demand. Losing Ndiaye at the same time would be a very different proposition, and there is currently no indication Everton have agreed to City’s suggestion.
