The 31-year-old goalkeeper arrived in Barcelona this week to complete the move from Fenerbahçe, with Barcelona confirming the transfer on Thursday. His immediate role at the club has yet to be determined, with the possibility of him remaining at Camp Nou or spending the season on loan still being considered. In 2023, he moved abroad for the first time, joining Turkish side Fenerbahçe. He subsequently spent part of the 2025/26 season back at Dinamo Zagreb on loan, while also being registered with Spanish club Girona on loan, although he did not make a league appearance for Girona. For Croatia, Livaković has been an important figure since making his senior international debut in January 2017. He played a key role in Croatia’s run to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, producing several important saves and becoming particularly noted for his performances in penalty shoot-outs.
