PSV has strengthened its squad with the arrival of Filip Kostić. The 33-year-old left back has signed a two-season contract in Eindhoven. He will wear jersey number 18. The Serbian is still awaiting his work permit. “When PSV reached out, it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to go to Eindhoven,” Kostić begins. “It took a while after that for the deal to be finalized, because I wanted to be sure that my family would feel at home here too and that everything would fit together perfectly. That’s definitely the case. I’m overjoyed with this move.” Kostić speaks highly of Peter Bosz . “I remember how well the coach always organized his teams when I played against him. As soon as I spoke with him, I realized that his approach to work and football suited me perfectly. That only made me more enthusiastic about joining PSV.” In the run-up to his transfer, the 72-time Serbian international had frequent contact with another PSV player: Ivan Perišić. “He kept saying: ‘Come on over here—you’ll love it, and together we’re going to make life miserable for all our opponents.’ I’m glad we now have that chance together, and I’m extremely eager to achieve a lot of success with this top club. I can’t wait to get started and, above all, let my feet do the talking, because that’s what I love to do most.” Career During his career, Kostić played for Radnički 1923, FC Groningen, VfB Stuttgart, Hamburger SV, Eintracht Frankfurt, Juventus, and Fenerbahçe. Among other achievements, he won the UEFA Europa League with Frankfurt. With Serbia, the experienced defender competed in three major tournaments. Earnest Stewart expressed his delight at Kostić’s arrival. “Filip has consistently proven himself at the highest level,” said PSV’s Director of Football. “We can see in everything he does that he remains incredibly driven and ambitious, and that is exactly what we are looking for. With his quality, mentality, and experience, he brings a lot of positive energy to our squad. We’re very happy that Filip has chosen PSV and are fully confident that he will be of great value here.”
