Zoey Serrano’s path to WWE could have turned out very differently. The former Zoey Stark recently revealed that she received contract offers from both WWE and TNA Wrestling at the same time, giving her a difficult but exciting choice early in her career. In the end, Serrano chose WWE and signed with the company in January 2021. However, she says her time in TNA played an important role in getting noticed by WWE in the first place. Zoey Serrano recalls receiving simultaneous contract offers from TNA and WWE Speaking with Fightful Overbooked’s Joel Pearl, Serrano looked back at her time in TNA, where she wrestled under the name Lacey Ryan. She had nothing but positive things to say about her experience with the promotion. Moreover, Zoey Serrano explained that appearing on TNA TV helped WWE discover her. “I had nothing but great experiences with them. So, in fact, I think because they had me on their platform, that’s what allowed WWE to see, and then ended up getting me signed to WWE. Actually, so I had an offer from TNA at the same time WWE gave me an offer. So I was like, ‘Ooh, that’s really excited to have both, right?’ So, I mean, we all know what I went with, WWE,” Serrano said. Before joining WWE, Serrano made several appearances for TNA between late 2019 and 2020. She wrestled on both IMPACT! and Xplosion. One of her biggest opportunities came when she challenged Jordynne Grace for the iMPACT World Title. After her WWE tryout, she signed in January 2021 and was given the name Zoey Stark. During her time in NXT, Stark won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Io Shirai, who is now known as Iyo Sky. She later moved to the main roster in 2023. She became involved in a major storyline with Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch while forming a tag team with Shayna Baszler. Unfortunately, a knee injury later slowed down her momentum, and she was released in April 2026. She had been away from the ring for an extended period after suffering the injury in May 2025.
