FP2 painted a familiar picture on Saturday morning, with title contender Izan Guevara leading the way in the final couple of minutes of the session and denying Alonso Lopez top spot. The Gresini rider was left only six hundredths off a second off top spot and still impressive in second on his return from injury. The similarly convalescent Barry Baltus joined the top 3 ahead of Friday’s leader, Dani Holgado, who was only a tenth off top spot as well. Dani Muñoz made a late jump into the top 5, but Angel Piqueras was the real surprise as he snuck ahead of championship leader Manu Gonzalez to claim 6th. Ivan Ortola, Joe Roberts and Alex Escrig completed a top 10 covered by half a second, with other familiar faces just behind, including Filip Salac, Collin Veijer, Senna Agius, Jose Antonio Rueda and Ayumu Sasaki - all around six tenths off the lead. Meanwhile, David Alonso’s struggles continued, the Colombian stuck outside of the top 20 positions and a whole second slower than Guevara.
