David Moyes is unsure if Everton will make further additions this summer. Five signings have already made their way into the first team at Hill Dickinson Stadium for a combined £58.5 million including winger Brennan Johnson. The Wales international proved instrumental in two of the Blues’ goals during Wednesday’s Carabao Cup second round victory over Preston North End. Johnson scored and made an assist at Deepdale, where Thierno Barry also scored a hat-trick, to set up a home meeting with Wolves in the next round. Everton have been in the market for a right-back all summer but have yet to reach a breakthrough with several named targets including Daniel Munoz. And Moyes admitted after his side’s latest win that he fears time is against them ahead of next Tuesday’s transfer deadline. “I still feel that for us to be a side which is competitive, I still think we’ve still got a lot of work to do ,” he told Sky Sports. “Hopefully we can try and do some of it (before the deadline). “We need more players. Our squad’s not big enough and we need to get more quality in some areas if we can. “I’m not sure we will but it’s not, for me, for the want of trying, that’s for sure”
