Manchester City are interested in signing Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, according to transfer reporter Alex Crook. Ndiaye’s technical flair, dribbling ability and work rate have put him firmly on City’s radar. They recently parted ways with Omar Marmoush and Savio, leaving the club in need of attacking reinforcements. However, City’s pursuit of Ndiaye is complicated, especially late in the transfer window. Everton are reluctant to lose their star forward, who Al-Hilal recently courted. Ndiaye turned down a move to the Middle East in favour of staying in Europe, and a switch to City would likely appeal to him. With Ndiaye under contract until June 2029, Everton are under no pressure to sell and have set an £80 million asking price. Although Ndiaye has rejected contract extension offers while seeking a future release clause, he remains focused on his duties with Everton. The 26-year-old impressed in Everton’s Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on Saturday, and came off the bench in Wednesday’s 4-0 League Cup win over Preston North End. With significant funds from recent sales, Man City could accelerate their pursuit of Ndiaye and may look to leverage Everton’s interest in Jack Grealish in negotiations. He spent last season on loan at Everton and they are keen to sign him permanently. However, Everton will face competition from Aston Villa and Sunderland. City’s new manager Enzo Maresca may be open to keeping him. Meanwhile, City continue to pursue Enzo Fernandez and are expected to submit a bid to Chelsea.
