Hull KR will take a heavily rotated squad to face Wigan Warriors tomorrow, and here is how they could line up. Just nine players in this week’s 21-man squad featured in Saturday’s loss to Toulouse, as a host of senior players drop out, with boss Willie Peters making nine changes. The Robins head coach revealed earlier today that he was forced to make such a vast number of switches due to “genuine injuries”, with optional rests coming for just three players – Tom Davies, Peta Hiku and Jez Litten. Dean Hadley is out for this week, whilst James Batchelor and Ryan Hampshire will miss three and four weeks respectively, meaning that they are out for the rest of the regular campaign. Mikey Lewis and Tevita Pangai Jr will begin their respective suspensions this week, whilst Tyrone May and Jai Whitbread are yet to be cleared for a return. Oliver Gildart was named in this week’s 21, but Peters confirmed that he will not play, having failed to pull through captain’s run. With so many changes set to take place, here is how we expect the Robins to line up in what is a Grand Final rematch – but for the second time this season, one side has gone significantly weaker than expected. How Hull KR could line up against Wigan Warriors Full-back: Jack Broadbent The full-back played in the centre against Toulouse and was caught out defensively on numerous occasions. He will be hoping to have an improved display against the Challenge Cup holders. Should Peters opt to rest the ex-Leeds man, Declan Murphy could be in line for a KR debut. Wingers: Noah Booth and Lee Kershaw Two players who have Super League experience, though in Booth’s case not a lot of it. After playing no part in the last three games, he comes back in to make his 12th top flight appearance. Kershaw recently returned from an ACL injury and, after playing for Huddersfield on loan, is still waiting for his first KR appearance of the season. Centres: Louix Gorman and Harvey Horne Gorman scored a consolation try against Toulouse last week, and impressed in his 12-minute stint. Horne can play across the back line but has played centre for Doncaster the past two week. His only KR appearance came in the Challenge Cup against Lock Lane earlier this year, where he scored a hat-trick. Halves: Arthur Mourgue and Jack Charles The French international is expected to switch from one to six again this week, and will be the experienced head in the playmaking department. Charles made his KR Super League debut last week, and will be looking to build on his game in the absence of Tyrone May. Props: Tom Amone and Sauaso Sue The forward pack is much more experienced than the back-line, something that is needed against a strong Wigan middle. Hooker: Bill Leyland Played just 15 minutes in the past three games, despite Jez Litten featuring for the full 80 in all three. Back-row: Rhyse Martin and Frankie Dearlove Likely to captain the side given his experience, and he will need to use all of that knowledge to help what is a youthful squad battle a Wigan side in top form. Dearlove is expected to make a long-awaited KR debut, having been tipped as a hot prospect. Loose forward: Karl Lawton The former NRL man is expected to rotate with Bill Leyland at hooker, but is a big body that can help control the start of the game before a youngster replaces him. Bench: Sam Luckley, Zach Fishwick, Cobie Wainhouse, Declan Murphy Luckley is by far the most experienced player on the bench. Fishwick made his KR debut in 2022, before Peters’ time, but hasn’t featured since, whilst Wainhouse joined from Hull FC in mid-season and provides forward cover. Murphy, as mentioned, is another who would be on KR debut, and could slot in across the backline.
