The Washington Commanders have been trying to find a good number two wide receiver for a few years now; they tried Deebo Samuel last season, and they're trying Stefon Diggs this year.
Jahan Dotson also didn't work out in the NFL Draft, but looking to the 2027 NFL Draft, taking a WR early might be a good idea.
ESPN's Jordan Reid in his preseason mock draft does just that for the Commanders, predicting Washington to select Indiana's 679-yard WR Charlie Becker with the No. 10 overall pick to give Jayden Daniels a good No. 2 WR.
Commanders predicted to take Charlie Becker in ESPN mock draft
"10. Washington Commanders. Charlie Becker, WR, Indiana," Reid predicts. "There's still a need for help opposite Terry McLaurin, and the 6-foot-4, 207-pound Becker was the player I enjoyed studying the most this offseason."
While Diggs might not be terrible for the Commanders in 2026, he's just a one-year rental. Washington really needs to find a better No. 2, especially with some uncertainty at the tight end and running back positions.
Becker, the Indiana Hoosier WR who won the National Championship last season, would be a great addition to the Washington WR room.

He had 34 receptions for 679 yards and four touchdowns last season, including two catches for 51 yards and a TD in the College Football Quarterfinal, two for 48 yards and a touchdown in the CFP semifinal, and then four for 65 yards in the Championship.
Becker has just one season in 2025 under his belt, but the Junior WR who broke out last season with Indiana could be in store for a big 2026 season now that Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper Jr. left for the NFL.
Being able to give Daniels Becker and McLaurin would, hopefully, finally give him a good No. 1 and No. 2 WR that many of the top teams in the NFL rely on.
