Today marks the halfway point of the first round in the Blazer’s Edge Best Things Ever Tournament, our way of filling up the slow NBA days of August and September with a little extra fun. Best Thing Ever: Can Anything Beat the House of Mouse? A behemoth versus an upset contender. Each day you’ll get two posts, each with a pair of things that might be cool in some way or another. There’s little rhyme or reason to it. These are just random “best things”. We’ll whittle down the initial 64 to a Final Four, then an ultimate winner of the Blazer’s Edge Best Thing Ever Tournament! We’ll even let you submit suggestions for the annual event next year! The choice in this poll comes between Disney and Brunch. Disney studios have shaped the childhood of millions with their animated shorts, movie features, and endearing characters. And that’s not even counting theme parks, memes, music, and cable channels. This behemoth is probably a high seed in the tournament and will be hard to beat! (Then again, these are the people who homogenized Star Wars, so…) But stepping up in the first round is mid-major Brunch. Who doesn’t like waffles, breakfast sausages, eggs prepared in delicious ways, and the trump cards: all-you-can-eat bacon and endless mimosas? Many a Sunday morning has been filled by this not-quite-breakfast, not-quite-lunch, best-of-both-worlds meal. So what will it be for you? House of Mouse or pancake-filled upset contender?
