The Mississippi State Bulldogs have added the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to their 2028 football schedule, according to a report from State 1878. Per the report, Mississippi State will host Louisiana Tech at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Miss., on September 16, 2028. The game will mark the 15th overall meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. The two programs first met in 1904 in Starkville. Mississippi State has won five straight in the series—including a 35-34 victory in their most recent meeting in 2021—and holds an 11-3 all‑time advantage. Mississippi State had previously been slated to visit Memphis in 2028, but that game has been canceled per State 1878. The game was the first of a home-and-home series that was scheduled to conclude in Starkville during the 2029 season. Per a source, Mississippi State will still host Memphis in Starkville, but the game has been rescheduled. The Bulldogs will now host the Tigers on Sept. 16, 2034. The Bulldogs’ 2028 non-conference schedule also includes a home contest against North Alabama on Sept. 2, leaving one opening to go along with its nine-game SEC schedule. Louisiana Tech, meanwhile, now has three non-league games scheduled in 2028 and all three are on the road. The Bulldogs will visit Texas on Sept. 2 and North Texas on Sept. 9 before the trip to Starkville. Football Schedules
