According to Zach Rosenblatt, the New York Jets are waiving kicker Cade York, ending his training camp competition with veteran Jason Sanders. The Jets are waiving Cade York, per source. — Zack Rosenblatt (@ZackBlatt) August 25, 2026 York and Sanders had been battling throughout Jets training camp, and the competition seemed close. York showed off an impressive leg at times, including a 60-yard field goal during practice last week that had plenty of distance to spare. His final practice with the Jets came Monday, when York connected on three of five field goal attempts. He made kicks from 32, 47 and 52 yards while missing from 37 and 42. The move leaves Sanders as the only kicker currently on the roster, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the competition is over. With NFL roster cuts taking place around the league, the Jets could potentially look at other options as kickers become available. For now, York’s time with the Jets is over, and all eyes turn to what the team does next at the position.
