The Indianapolis Colts signed Alec Pierce this offseason to a massive new contract this offseason for $114 million over four years. But, shortly after signing this deal, Pierce had work done on his ankle injury from the 2025 season, and has since missed essentially the entire offseason. However, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN, the Colts got some good news on Pierce, as the star WR is expected to return to practice for Indianapolis ahead of the third and final week of the preseason. This is a fantastic update for the Colts, as even though it's not a confirmation that Pierce is actually back and practicing just yet, this is a huge first sign he's trending in the right direction. He might not be 100% at the start of the season, but his return to practice ahead of the third preseason game, and a few weeks before the September 13 season-opener, is some great news. After hauling in 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns last year, Pierce seems poised for another big season with Michael Pittman now gone in a trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The only question for Pierce is whether he'll be ready for Week 1 or not. There's still some uncertainty, but this news is a good first step for Pierce's return to the Colts lineup.
