WWE Roster Are Spending Weeks Just Trying To Talk To Triple H

A Superstar on the WWE roster may have to spend weeks just to speak with Triple H, with no guarantee that their conversation will change things. Speaking recently with Inside the Ropes, former WWE Superstar Carlito shared insight into how difficult being heard can be behind the scenes. He said, “I remember a lot of times somebody said, ‘Oh, you didn’t speak up.’ Well, the thing is, speaking up is going one week to, let’s say, a writer: ‘Hey, I got this idea.’ ‘Oh, that’s a good idea.’ Okay. Come back next week. ‘What do you think?’ ‘What was the idea?’ ‘Oh, what is it again?’” While these talks may eventually find their way to Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, it is by no means an easy process to pitch ideas. Carlito added, “‘Oh, talk to so-and-so.’ Okay, now three weeks have gone by. Eventually, you get to Hunter. You’re like, ‘Yeah, what do you got?’ ‘Yeah, let me see. Let me look into it.’ Don’t you run the show? Like, who you got to talk to? Just tell me yes or no or whatever. “That’s speaking up. It’s like, bro, I don’t have that kind of energy. You know what I mean? If I tell you once or, you know, at least twice, I don’t have to be chasing you around. Call that lazy. Call it whatever you want. It’s just—that’s not me.” After a brief return to WWE in 2021, he re-signed with the promotion in 2023 and would remain with the promotion until June 2025. Carlito has since said he regrets turning down a longer WWE deal, but has also said that staying with WWE was akin to being a beaten housewife.
