Tottenham Hotspur are actively working on reshaping their attack in the final days of the summer window. The Premier League side have identified Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush as targets. Tottenham have made advances to sign Savinho and Marmoush and are expected to make a new offer for Gakpo this week. The north London club are also looking beyond the Premier League for an attacker. Earlier this month, we relayed news of Spurs and Newcastle United interest in AS Monaco star Folarin Balogun. On August 12th, Sport Witness covered a report from France explaining that the striker gave his approval to Spurs. Tottenham still keen on Balogun Savinho and Omar Marmoush’s moves to Tottenham Hotspur are at an advanced stage, but that isn’t stopping them from pursuing Folarin Balogun. Tuesday’s print edition of L’Equipe provides the latest on Roberto De Zerbi’s side and the Ligue 1 side’s position. AS Monaco signed the No.9 from Arsenal in August 2023 and he has starred for them. The American has 31 goals and 19 assists from 91 matches, and 19 goals and five assists were from last season. His performances have seen him attract interest from a few clubs, including the north London club. Monaco preparing for striker’s exit The forward has been struggling with a minor physical problem, forcing him to miss two matches this season. Folarin Balogun, who hasn’t been training, won’t return to the group today and will carry out individual sessions. This is a precautionary measure, mainly because AS Monaco are anticipating his sale late in the window. The Ligue 1 side have invested €30m on Matthis Abline, who will be Balogun’s successor. Faced with the difficult financial situation, the American’s sale is crucial for the club to make further signings. Balogun’s suitors include Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Aston Villa. These three clubs have made approaches and consider him as the right candidate to improve their attacks. It’s unclear whether Spurs will make further advances, especially if Omar Marmoush were to join them.
