In under three weeks, the Carolina Hurricanes prospects will take the ice at the Hurricanes’ practice facility, Invisalign Center, for the annual Prospect Showcase. That means we technically get Canes hockey in less than 20 days. But in the meantime, it is still the Summer of Stanley for the Hurricanes. We’ve been tracking the Stanley Cup’s whereabouts here in the Rumble, and it seems it may potentially have an interesting appearance at the Durham Bulls game? Maybe??? Let’s get into the headlines! Tracking the Stanley Cup Saturday, Jaccob Slavin had his day with the Stanley Cup – and just as you’d expect of the Hurricanes’ classy alternate captain – he spent it giving back to those in the local nonprofit community. He started the day at The King’s Chapel, a Baptist church in Raleigh, with approximately 200 guests ranging from administrators to volunteers across 20 Christian-based charities – sharing coffee, donuts, and time together. As previously mentioned, Slavin also used his day to raise money for the Grayson Murray Foundation – an NPO centered on helping to raise awareness for mental health and addiction, started in honor of his late friend, professional golfer Grayson Murray. The auction was won with a $5,100 bid from Alby and Heather Rose – a pair of Caniacs living in Houston, Texas, who made the drive out to Raleigh. If that wasn’t awesome enough, Alby’s employer matched with a donation to the Foundation. Jeremy Porras, who founded one of the charities that were present – Raleigh Dream Center – shared an awesome tribute of the day on his Instagram. Afterwards, Slavin celebrated by filling the Cup with BBQ ribs and a Two Roosters signature ‘Slavin Sundae’ (not at the same time, of course). All the while, a sign in the back displayed in bold, brightly lit letters, ‘AGTG’ – the iconic acronym he has used throughout his career to proclaim ‘All Glory to God’. Outside of the general celebration, he also shared the Cup with neighbors, taking a walk with it through the subdivision. Monday, the Cup was in Troy, Michigan, for Tim Gleason’s day. Meanwhile, the Durham Bulls have teased that…the Cup may end up present for their game against the Norfolk Tides Tuesday night? Or maybe just Jordan Martinook? I can’t confirm either, but they’re up to some kind of shenanigans… Carolina Hurricanes Exhibit Opens The Hockey Hall of Fame announced that the Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup exhibit is now up and running in a recent post on their socials. The exhibit features memorabilia from the 2026 Stanley Cup Championship (and celebration), such as the sweater of Hurricanes captain and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Jordan Staal, the equipment of other players, and even champagne bottles and party goggles.
