UEFA have confirmed Aston Villa's current squad for the Super Cup clash against Paris Saint-Germain. Unai Emery's side won the Europa League in May before PSG lifted the Champions League after beating Arsenal on penalties in Budapest.
UEFA rules stipulate that both teams must submit their List A squads for the Super Cup by 4 August 2026 (23:59 CET).
However, the list can be amended at any time until 23:59 CET on the day before the match, provided the club's association confirms in writing that any new players are eligible to play at domestic level by the date of the competition.
Here is the Villa squad UEFA have confirmed:
Goalkeepers: Martinez, Bizot, Wright, Asemota
Defenders: Cash, Nedeljkovic, Konsa, Lindelof, Torres, Mings, Maatsen, Bogarde, Cisse
Midfielders: Kamara, McGinn, Joao Gomes, Barkley
Forwards: Watkins, Abraham, Buendia, Garnacho, Guessand, Alysson
Johan Manzambi has not been included because he is still recovering from a knee injury, while Leon Bailey and Lucas Digne are both expected to leave the club.
Another notable omission at this stage is Brian Madjo, who has impressed for Villa during pre-season this summer, scoring four goals in five games.
Villa only received the green light to register Madjo on Tuesday after the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld their appeal, having previously seen FIFA block his registration.
While BirminghamLive has contacted Villa regarding Madjo's omission and is awaiting a response, one theory is that the club submitted its squad before being notified of the successful appeal that officially allowed Madjo to be registered as a Villa player.
As UEFA have confirmed that amendments can be made to the squad, there remains a possibility that Madjo could still feature against PSG.
Meanwhile, George Hemmings and Luka Lynch could be named in Villa's List B squad, which does not need to be submitted until 4 August 2026 (23:59 CET).
UEFA rules state that a player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2005 and has, since his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for an uninterrupted period of two years, or for a total of three consecutive years, with a maximum of one loan spell to a club from the same association lasting no longer than one year.
