LAHORE - A major wrestling event featuring some of country’s leading wrestlers would be organized at Dangal Arena in Bahawalpur in October and the sports activities would start at the padel tennis courts in Lahore and Sialkot within a period of one week. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazal-ur-Rehman shared this information while chairing a meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Monday. The meeting was convened to review sports facilities, infrastructure and sports activities of Bahawalpur Division. DSO Bahawalpur Division Amir Hameed gave detailed briefing during the meeting. Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Youth Affairs M Fahad and PMU officers attended the meeting in person while all DSOs of the province participated in the meeting through video link. The Secretary sports said that the sports facilities in all divisions of the province are being reviewed in phases to ensure the effective promotion and development of sports across the province. “Athletes from all divisions of Punjab could maintain their profiles through the Rising Star Portal, providing talented players with an opportunity to showcase their skills and abilities.”
