Chelsea Green was officially introduced as the new WWE Women’s Champion during this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. At WWE SummerSlam 2026 (Night Two), Green competed alongside four other women in a ladder match to determine the Interim WWE Women’s Champion. Green ultimately emerged victorious, earning the interim title. During this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Green celebrated her victory and was introduced by Joe Tessitore as the new Women’s Champion. Green also made her status clear with her attire, wearing a t-shirt that read, “Permanent Champion.” However, Rhea Ripley remains the recognized WWE Women’s Champion. Ripley has been sidelined after recently undergoing knee surgery, leading WWE to establish an interim championship in her absence.
