A WWE Hall of Famer could be playing a key role behind the scenes at NXT Heatwave. Speaking on The AJ Styles Show, former WWE Champion AJ Styles revealed that he believes he could have the opportunity to help produce the upcoming fatal four-way match for the NXT Championship. “Well, I know about this four-way and I’m thinking that I’m gonna have the opportunity, I think, to help produce this,” Styles said. “So, it’s kind of exciting. I mean, it’s going to be a big match. The Phenomenal One praised the talent involved and expressed excitement about the prospect of working on the bout. “I think that you’ve definitely got some ideas,” Styles said. “Think it’s going to be really good. I mean, because you got some great talent in there.” Styles has been helping produce matches since retiring from in-ring competition at WWE Royal Rumble 2026. He has recently worked behind the scenes in NXT and WWE EVOLVE, including helping produce the Cruz Montana vs. Grayson Waller match on the August 11 episode of NXT. NXT Heatwave Main Event Set The NXT Heatwave main event will see Tony D’Angelo defend the NXT Championship against Cruz Montana, Grayson Waller, and Zilla Fatu in a Fatal 4-Way Match. Elsewhere on the show, Kendal Grey will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Kelani Jordan. Plus, NXT Women’s North American Champion ZARIA will take on WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair in a title unification bout.
