The New Orleans Saints' unfortunate injury bug keeps on biting.
More than 20 players missed Monday's walkthrough, including several new absences that will keep them out for an extended period.
Coach Kellen Moore said after the session that tight end Moliki Matavao (knee), running back Ty Chandler (knee) and rookie cornerback Lorenzo Styles (calf) are dealing with injuries on the more serious side. New Orleans, too, placed cornerback Rejzohn Wright on injured reserve as he'll undergo season-ending hip surgery, Moore said.
The Saints are also collecting more information on running back Devin Neal's hamstring injury after he reaggravated the issue during Saturday's preseason loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
The following players did not participate in the walkthrough: WR Jordyn Tyson (hamstring), WR Trey Palmer (undisclosed), WR Mason Tipton (leg), WR Bub Means (hamstring), Neal (hamstring), Wright (hip), cornerback Quincy Riley (groin), Chandler, Styles (calf), CB Dalys Beanum (undisclosed), RB Alvin Kamara (knee), G Cesar Ruiz (ankle), DT Christen Miller (shoulder), LB Chris Rumph (ankle), DT Brien Taylor (stinger), OL Torricelli Simpkins (concussion), T Barry Wesley (undisclosed), Matavao (knee), TE Oscar Delp (hamstring), DE Cam Jordan (hamstring) and DT John Ridgeway (foot).
New acquisitions running back Zamir White (acquired from San Francisco) and kicker Daniel Carlson (signed in free agency) were not yet in attendance.
In good news for New Orleans, the Saints did see running back Audric Estime (foot) return to practice Monday.
Despite the long list of injuries, Moore said he has yet to decide if the Saints will play their starters in Friday's preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys.
