Court records show York was originally charged with engaging in prostitution; however, prosecutors amended that count to disorderly conduct as part of the plea agreement. ESPN reported that York pleaded no contest to both misdemeanor charges and paid $150 for the disorderly conduct charge and $1,000 for possessing criminal tools. Court records also show a cellphone seized during the incident was ordered returned to York. Another $160 that had been seized was forfeited to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force under the agreement. York also completed an online course. The incident happened in York’s home state. He was born and raised in Youngstown and still owns property there, according to reports. Now the attention shifts toward the 49ers. York has been the organization’s CEO since 2008 and became the franchise’s principal owner in 2024. His stint has included plenty of turbulence early on; however, the organization eventually settled into sustained contention after hiring Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch in 2017. Since then, San Francisco has reached three Super Bowls under York’s leadership, including two appearances with Shanahan and Lynch. That football success, however, is now sharing the spotlight with a legal issue involving the man at the top.
