This is an important six-game series against the Beloit Sky Carp (69-47, 34-20; tied for first with QC in the Western Division). The two are battling for the second Western Division playoff berth that will face South Bend in the Midwest League playoffs. Next week, QC closes the season with a six-game road trip to Peoria (56-63, 24-29; fifth place Western Division) as Beloit closes with a home set vs. Wisconsin (62-53, 28-25; fourth place Western Division). This is the fourth series of the season between QC and Beloit, with the Miami Marlins' farm club winning 11 of the 18 meetings so far and outscoring the Kansas City farmhands 99-96. Beloit won five games in the last meeting at its place, but was outscored 29-27 in those six games. It was the only series the Bandits have lost in the second half of the season. The first four games of the series are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch, and Sunday's series finale has a 1 p.m. start time. Promotions Tuesday: $2 Tuesday (admission, hot dogs, Pepsi products).
