What is on? The 2026 Women’s Irish Open will take place from this Thursday, August 27th to Sunday, August 30th on the South Course at The K Club, Co Kildare. It is a Ladies European Tour event with a prize fund of €450,000. How can I watch it all? You can watch the action on RTÉ2 and on Sky Sports (+ and Mix channels), from 2pm to 5.05pm each day of the competition. What is The K Club like as a course? The Women’s Irish Open will be hosted at the South Course at The K Club, formerly known as the Smurfit course, which hosted the men’s European Open on the European Tour three times in the 2000s. An “inland links style”, dramatic in the style of its designer, the late Arnold Palmer, The K Club is better known for the North Course which hosted the Ryder Cup in 2006 and two men’s Irish Opens won by Rory McIlroy. This is the first time the Women’s Irish Open has been hosted by The K Club. What Irish players are playing? There are 16 Irish players in the field, led by Leona Maguire, as they look to become the first Irish winner in the event’s history. Others include Anna Foster, Áine Donegan and Beth Coulter, who have shown form recently, and Lauren Walsh returns to the Ladies European Tour after a LPGA Tour-focused schedule. READ MORE Who else has come to play? Unfortunately, English top 10 player Charley Hull was scheduled to play the event but changed her mind to compete on the LPGA Tour this week instead. The 17-year-old Canadian star Anna Huang, who has won four times on the Ladies European Tour including the PIF London Championship earlier this month is one to watch. Last year’s Order of Merit winner Shannon Tan from Singapore is another. Can you still get tickets? Yes, it is €25 for Thursday and Friday and €30 for Saturday and Sunday, with under 16s admitted for free, which is a great initiative. What is the weather forecast? Showers are expected most of the week, with Saturday expected to be the driest, temperatures will range between 16 and 19 degrees. Winds could reach 21km/h on Sunday afternoon.
