MARTIN O’NEILL has ordered his Celtic players to take an oath of silence ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League play-off against LASK in Austria.
The Hoops go into the crucial £40million winner-takes-all second leg encounter with a 3-0 advantage following Camilo Duran’s double and Benjamin Nygren’s opener at Parkhead last week.
And the 74-year-old gaffer has blocked his players with a strict social media ban.
O’Neill admitted: “One thing I said to the players was don’t be going on Facebook or Instagram or whatever else they call it.
“I told them, leave it, leave it. They know. And if they don’t know then they shouldn’t be playing the game.”

O’Neill also knocked back any suggestion the champions may believe they are as good as in the draw for the next money-spinning round among Europe’s elite after getting the hard work done in Glasgow five days ago.
“They’re capable of scoring with a lot of pace up front. They’re strong, athletic and even their smaller lads are very, very quick, so we’ve got our work cut out.
O’Neill added: “I don’t even think I’ll have to say anything to our lads, I really don’t.
“Of course, I had some chat after the game the other night, but I promise you, regardless of the result, we will not be complacent.”
With O’Neill around, the players will maintain the focus that was missing a year ago in both of the calamitous qualifiers against Kazakhstan minnows Kairat Almaty where Brendan Rodgers’ side didn’t manage to score a solitary goal in three-and-a-half hours against opponents who were cannonfodder at the next stage of the competition.
