Torquay, Peterborough and Norwich get first wins The Posh and the Canaries scored first-ever victories in Tier 3 on matchday two of the FA WNL Torquay United earned their first win back in the FA Women’s National League in emphatic fashion in the second weekend of the 2026/27 campaign. Norwich City and Peterborough United both scored their first-ever victories in Tier 3 by beating Hull City and Liverpool Feds, respectively. While Blackburn Rovers got on the board with a thrilling 4-3 win over Durham Cestria. Torquay United hit target After two seasons away from Division One South West, the Yellows picked up a first win of their FA WNL return, beating Ascot United 6-0, with Beth Everson and Connie Pengelly each scoring twice. Moneyfields took pole position at the top of the table with a 5-1 home victory over Abingdon United, Olivia Venditto the leading attacking threat with two goals. Gwalia United settled behind Moneys on goal difference, after keeping their undefeated record intact through a close 1-0 win at home to Bournemouth Sports. Wycombe Wanderers continued their strong FA WNL entrance with a 2-0 win over Keynsham Town, while Bridgwater United also remain undefeated with a 1-0 win against Maidenhead United. Bristol Rovers got off the mark with a 3-1 win at Marine Academy Plymouth. Norwich and Posh make winning history Norwich City claimed a first win in Tier 3 at Hull City 2-0, with stoppage-time goals in either half. Peterborough United did the same as they held off a resurgent Liverpool Feds in the final 15 minutes to clinch a 3-2 win, despite Feds scoring twice in 10 minutes. Middlesbrough moved up the table after a 1-0 victory hosting West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City were too strong for Northern Premier Division debutantes Boldmere St Michaels 5-1, a scoreline which was repeated by Huddersfield Town against Loughborough Lightning. While Rugby Borough beat Derby County 1-0 to remain undefeated in second. Blackburn rescue victory Blackburn Rovers scored four second-half goals to take three unlikely points from their trip to Durham Cestria as they triumphed 4-3, scoring two goals with the clock nearing full-time. Halifax beat Norton & Stockton Ancients 4-2, while unbeaten Leeds United and Stockport County retained their perfect starts in Division One North with victories against Chester Le Street Town and Bradford City, winning 3-0 and 5-1 respectively. Newcomers Thornaby moved up the table with a 3-0 win against visitors Chorley for their first points in the FA WNL. Meanwhile, Kenzie Bentley ensured that AFC Fylde stayed unbeaten with a late winner at York City for a 2-1 triumph. Bees edge U's An early top-of-the-table clash saw London Bees hand Cambridge United a first loss of the campaign, as the Bees came out on top 1-0 through Grace Breen’s second-half header. Lottie Sharp scored the winner against Luton Town to see Chatham Town claim a first win of the season as they triumphed 2-1. Dulwich Hamlet left it late to take a point from their 2-2 contest with Saltdean United, with Leila Emmerson securing a draw, while FA WNL debutants Saltdean continue to impress after victory last weekend. Olivia Oshodi’s hat-trick for Stevenage went a long way to Boro’s first victory this campaign as they hosted fellow newcomers Dartford and ended up 4-2 victors. A brace from Stephanie McCaffrey and one more from Wiktoria Fronc won three points for Actonians as they beat local rivals Queens Park Rangers 3-0. Wimbledon get on the board In the Southern Premier Division, AFC Wimbledon scored the first goal of their season at Home Park and turned on the attacking taps to claim a convincing 6-0 win over Plymouth Argyle. Exeter City opened their account with a 1-1 draw at Hashtag United, both sides unable to score a winner after two goals in the first 25 minutes. New signing Sophie Gillies scored twice inside the first six minutes of Fulham’s 4-1 win away to Real Bedford, the Division One South East champions kicking on in Tier 3 with two wins from two matches. Oxford United remain in the driving seat of the Southern Premier Division after first-half goals saw them defeat Lewes 3-0. But AFC Bournemouth have stuck close to the division leaders after an 88th-minute winner from Tia Young ensured the Cherries' flawless record was not broken, defeating Cheltenham Town 2-1. Portsmouth’s 4-0 win over Swindon Town will be a major boost of confidence for Pompey after dropping down from Barclays WSL2 this season. Wythenshawe set the pace Wythenshawe remain in first place in Division One Midlands after beating Sheffield FC 4-0. Notts County picked up points for the first time this season as they beat Kidderminster Harriers 3-0, while Barnsley Women did the same as they won 5-1 at Worcester City Women. Sporting Khalsa edged Northampton Town 1-0, while Sutton Coldfield Town celebrated a 1-0 win at Chesterfield after Amber Downs’ 84th-minute winner, and Leafield Athletic came back from two goals down to defeat Lye Town 4-2.
