Caitlin Clark and DiJonai Carrington continued their rivalry on Sunday evening. The Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry, which started in the 2023 NCAA Women’s National Championship game two years ago, continues to be one of the most-talked-about on-court feuds in the WNBA. Given that those two are undoubtedly two of the biggest names in the league and are closely intertwined, the attention it garners makes sense. Still, Reese may not be Clark’s biggest rival. It might be Chicago Sky guard Carrington. Carrington’s fierce on-court defense is well-known; however, it was her confrontation with Clark during the August 23, 2026, game that drew a lot of attention. After being sent off in the first quarter of the teams’ most recent encounter on August 8, 2026, due to a foul on Sophie Cunningham, Carrington was looking forward to the Fever and Sky matchup on Sunday. Another commenter jumped on Carrington’s “White Privilege” arc, labeling her as an attention seeker who could pose a serious threat to female basketball players. Clark finished the game with 37 points and 10 assists, including 8-12 from three-point range. On the other hand, Carrington finished with three rebounds, one assist, one block, and seven points. This heated series of plays between the two star guards, whose rivalry dates back to 2024, was perhaps the game’s most memorable on-court moment. In the end, it was Clark and Indiana who had the last laugh. Clark’s stepback three on Carrington was one of her greatest shots of Sunday night, as Indiana easily defeated Chicago 113-90. With a 15-23 season record and seven games behind the No. 8 seed, Indiana’s win effectively eliminated Chicago from the 2026 WNBA playoffs.
