Hearts lead the ScottishPower SWPL table on goal difference from Rangers, Hibernian, and Celtic Women after matchday two. SWPL 1 Aberdeen 0-3 Glasgow City Celtic 3-0 Montrose Partick Thistle 1-3 Hibernian Motherwell 0-5 Hearts Rangers 7-0 Spartans Montrose held out against Celtic until the 82nd minute and were eventually beaten 3-0. Casey Howe scored the breakthrough goal, with Maria McAney and Issy Fisher also finding the net with emphatic finishes. Hearts cruised to a 5-0 victory at Motherwell, with Monica Forsyth and Carly Johns each scoring twice, and Carly Girasoli adding the other goal. Katy Wilkinson claimed a four-goal haul as Rangers sank Spartans 7-0. Robyn McCafferty conceded an early own-goal, while Calliste Brookshire and Laura Berry were the other scorers for the hosts. Hibernian beat Partick Thistle 3-1 away although Siobhan Hunter’s headed opener had been cancelled out by a Sienna McGoldrick strike from distance. Sophie Timlin’s own goal restored the advantage before the break, and Hunter later netted her second header. Glasgow City got off the mark with all three goals of the game at Aberdeen. Kelly Brady headed in after a quarter of an hour, with Emily Gray and Erin McLaughlin adding second-half goals. SWPL 2 Boroughmuir Thistle 1-0 Queens Park Hamilton Academical 1-1 Renfrew Kilmarnock 3-0 Dundee United Falkirk 1-1 St Johnstone Livingston 0-2 Gartcairn Kilmarnock defeated Dundee United 3-0 to lead the table on goal difference, with Cara Grey striking twice. Boroughmuir Thistle took a 1-0 victory over Queens Park, thanks to a goal from Holly Aitchison. St Johnstone moved up to four points with a draw at Falkirk. An Elvie McLean penalty, taken with the last kick of the game, earned the Saints a late point after Olivia Murphy had scored for the hosts. Gartcairn got both goals in the game at Livingston, with Rebecca Simpson and Jemma McQuillan the scorers. Renfrew scored their first-ever point at this level with a 1-1 tie at Hamilton. Lauren McCulloch put them in front, but Ava Smith replied for the Accies.
