In particular, Basit feels Aaqib cannot even answer why he put Babar Azam to bat at number four in T20Is. Azam used to open the batting in the shortest format and has regularly played at number three as well. However, Basit admitted to be baffled by Aaqib’s decision to push the 31-year-old even further down the batting order to number four. “Aaqib Javed is good for nothing, he does not even know himself why he placed Babar Azam at number four,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel. Azam was recently reappointed as Test captain and led Pakistan in their two-Test series against the West Indies, which ended as a 1-1 draw. He was now captain the men in green in their upcoming three-Test series against England, which will be held from August 19 to September 13.
